Organize an Event
One of the best ways you can serve with Erie UpLink is to organize a Packing Event with your family, team or organization to assemble and donate items for our Tiger Pack students. If you would like to assemble and donate items listed below, please contact us at erieuplink@gmail.com to let us know what you will be donating and to set up a day/time to coordinate dropping them off at our office in Erie Village.
1. Assemble Tiger Packs
-
Tiger Packs are food-filled backpacks sent home with students from Erie schools with non-perishable, kid-friendly food items. Download and carefully follow the instructions below for your family, group or organization to assemble Tiger Packs bags.
Download the PDF below:
2. Create Personal Care Kits
-
We are collecting full-sized toiletries in Ziploc Bags to add to our Tiger Packs. Include items such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, Kleenex, make-up wipes and sunscreen. Food assistance programs such as SNAP do not allow for the purchase of toiletries, so these items are a great help to families on a tight budget.
Please Download and Follow the Instructions Below:
3. Collect new socks, hats, gloves, pajamas
-
We also like to include cold weather gear and seasonal clothing in our Tiger Packs to keep these kids warm during the cold winter months. We serve kids from kindergarten to high school, so all sizes are needed. Please contact us to learn more about sizing and quantity needed.
4. Seasonal Treats
-
To make the Tiger Packs fun as well as useful, you can donate seasonal treats for us to include. Items like Girl Scout Cookies, hot cocoa/s'mores kits, summer fun toys, Valentine cards and Easter treats are always a big hit! Reach out to us for more information about what is needed in the upcoming months.
If you would like to volunteer for an organized packing event, become a delivery driver, or pick up and sort supplies, please contact us directly at erieuplink@gmail.com or fill out our contact form online.
Volunteer Opportunities
Delivery Driver
-
Tiger Packs food-filled bags are delivered directly to the doorstep of registered students one Wednesday afternoon per month. Delivery Routes are organized by neighborhood and committed volunteers are assigned to a route for the school year. Interested volunteers please email us.
Tiger Packing Event
-
Periodically Erie UpLink hosts events to assemble Tiger Packs. If your group, team or organization is interested in volunteering together for one of our events, please send us an email.
Pick Up or Sort Supplies
-
When schools host supply drives for Erie UpLink, we often need volunteers to pick up and sort donations. If this volunteer opportunity appeals to you, email your contact information and availability to erieuplink@gmail.com
